The 2008 "Madison to Chicago 200" team relay race is history... and ERC members helped manage the final exchange point, at NU, on June 14th. Thanks to ERC members Kate Saccany, Dave and Nani Boyce, Cathy Westphal, Dave Aubuchon, Rich Lytle and Al White for putting up and taking down signs, manning the checkpoint and helping the HAM radio jockeys keep tabs on over 100 teams and 1,100 runners, especially when T-storms held up proceedings, just as the main bunch were coming into the NU stop! ERC Spring Seminar Series concludes... and it was a rousing success, thanks to our friends at the Northwestern University Running Club, for helping plan and host the talks on-campus, and to our wonderful speakers: Coach Vinny Finneran, Dr. Carle Rollins and Nancy Rollins, running celebrity extraordinaire! WOW, did our Boston Marathon Runners do a TERRIFIC JOB! We had 8 members running Boston this year, and Super Congratulations to them ALL! But, special mention certainly goes to Nancy Rollins, 1st among women 60-69, in... are you sitting down?... 3:30 and change!
Not to be out-done, Christina Remy ran 3:31:13 at Bonn that same day. She was 7th in her age group, 33th overall... way to go!
This year the Ted Fund will once again be using the Chicago Marathon as a fund raiser after a very successful first year in which $13,000 was raised.
