ERC GIVES BACK

Many club members are involved in local charitable organizations that need our help.  There are often local events for which ERC members volunteer and/or provide money or materials.  Here are just a few worth your consideration.

This page will be up-dated from time-to-time, and if you are interested, please link to that organization or email the sponsoring member directly

  • 2008 Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate - here are PICTURES from the race, and MORE PICTURES, taken by Ricky's sister, Marcia Byrdsong who wrote: "Please let your club know that the family appreciates their participation!".  What a day, what a race, what a cause!

  • Clean Up Evanston: April 20th, 2008, ERC members, families and friends wll meet at the Forest Preserve Park at Grant and Ewing to pick up trash and spruce up the place for Spring.  ERC will provide the tools and drinks, all we need is your ENTHUSIASM!

  • Ted Fund: This year the Ted Fund will once again be using the Chicago Marathon as a fund raiser after a very successful first year in which $13,000 was raised.    In order to be recognized as an official charity they will need to sign up 15 runners as Ted Fund runners.  Those runners do not need to necessarily agree to raise money for the fund, but it is critically important that the 15 runner minimum be achieved so those runners who do agree to raise money can do so with the endorsement and help of the Chicago Marathon.  If you are going to run the marathon this year and can agree to support the Ted Fund, either with your registration information, or as a fund raiser, please contact Christine Wack, who will be the marathon coordinator this year at christyw@earthlink.net .   For information about the Ted Fund, see the website http://www.tedfund.org/.
